Restoration Update

Restoration Update:

Villa Terrace Museum & Gardens is currently undergoing an important and long-overdue restoration of the building’s masonry envelope. This significant project began in spring 2026 and has required the expertise and craftsmanship of highly skilled preservation artisans. We are incredibly grateful for the care and attention they have given to preserving our beloved historic building.

As restoration work progressed, additional structural concerns were uncovered. Working closely with historic preservation architects, engineers, and masonry experts, we are relieved to know that these issues can be safely addressed and remedied, helping to protect the Villa for generations to come.

While this necessary work is essential to the long-term safety and integrity of the building, it has also resulted in some temporary disruption to the Villa’s exterior appearance. Because this is meticulous work that requires significant time, specialized craftsmanship, and resources, we anticipate that the restoration may continue through late fall 2026 or into early spring 2027 before the Villa’s exterior fully returns to its historic splendor.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience the restoration may cause and deeply appreciate your patience and understanding as we undertake this important work. Preserving the Villa for future generations requires addressing these structural concerns now, and we are committed to doing so with the utmost care.

The Villa’s interior remains open and unaffected by the exterior restoration. We look forward to welcoming you to our upcoming events, programs, exhibitions, and all that Villa Terrace has to offer.

Thank you for your continued support of Villa Terrace Museum & Gardens as we work to preserve this extraordinary historic landmark for generations to come.
