Music Policy

Lloyd and Agnes Smith built the Villa Terrace in 1924 in the Historic Water Tower Neighborhood to raise their family of six children. They were known as doting parents who enjoyed socializing but also being good neighbors. Once their children were grown, the family donated its home to Milwaukee as an art museum for the benefit of us all. Museum leadership is committed to continuing the Smith’s legacy by being good neighbors — and our music policy comes out of this tradition. Amplified music is welcome inside the museum. It must end promptly at the agreed-upon time and no later than 10:30 p.m. We strictly adhere to this policy to insure not only the success of your event but also our future programming. Your business is important to us. We look forward to working with you to create the exceptional events we are known for, while respecting the Smith family legacy.
