Join us Oct. 27 for the opening of "Grounded," a contemporary sculpture exhibition. All are welcome to this evening of art, live music and food. Admission is free.

"Grounded" features the works of three rising Midwest sculpture artists: Nick Drain, Z Moralez and Sydnie Jimenez.

Grounding their work in materials derived from the Earth, Jimenez, Moralez and Drain explore narratives of identity and relationships with space and socio-political systems.

Bringing us to Earth, "Grounded" presents work exploring surveillance, radical self-expression, and the impermanence of memory against the historic and material backdrop of the Villa Terrace.

Viewers are invited to observe how artists think critically of who they surround themselves with, their resistance to socio-political systems, and how they portray personal experiences.

The opening night event will feature live local music and opening remarks by Senior Curator Phoenix Brown. Hors d'oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available. Members receive their first drink free.

Click here become a member or renew your membership.

Attendees are invited attend the semi-official afterparty of "Grounded" at the Charles Allis Art Museum at 8 p.m. The Allis is celebrating the opening of its new contemporary art spaces, the Connecting Galleries, alongside the final night of its free concert series Autumn at the Allis. All guests (21-years-old and older) who attend our opening night are entitled to a ticket for a free drink at Autumn at the Allis.

More details regarding Autumn at the Allis can be found at charlesallis.org.
