Kristine Hinrichs is a Milwaukee, Wisconsin based photographer. She lives in downtown Milwaukee and generally focuses on the urban landscape, an outgrowth of her training and interest in urban planning. She has photographed and posted to social media every day since July 2, 2011 – nearly 5500 consecutive days. She has expanded the presentation of her photographic work to images that she prints on silk – both silk panel installations and hand-quilted silk pieces. The silk pieces allow her to translate two-dimensional photographs into a three-dimensional piece and marries modern digital photography with silk as an ancient medium.

Her award winning work has been featured in numerous juried exhibitions throughout the US. She has had solo exhibitions at Milwaukee’s Aquae Nguvu Gallery, Pump House Regional Arts Center and Lakeland University and was the Artist in Residence at the Wisconsin Club. She has solo exhibitions on tap at the Walkers Point Center for the Arts and Madison’s Overture Center. Two of her pieces were selected for the 2026 Wisconsin Biennial and is in the permanent collections of the Trout Museum and Museum of Wisconsin Art.
