friends garden lectureDanish-born Wisconsin-raised Jensen is known for his natural landscapes as part of the prairie school movement. Jensen was head of the Chicago Parks District for many years, before retiring to his school, The Clearing, in Ellison Bay. Jens will be inducted into the Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame this year, 70 years after his death.
About the Speaker:
Stephen McCarthy has practiced landscape architecture in Illinois and Wisconsin in both the public and private sectors over the past 40 years with a focus on large scale natural resource based projects, native landscape restoration, and land acquisition and preservation. His award winning projects include residential, corporate, and institutional site design as well as master planning and design for parks and forest preserves. Throughout his career he has had a particular interest in the study of both native and ornamental plants.
Doors open at 6pm for registration
6:30pm wine & light refreshments
Lectures begin promptly at 7pm
Tickets are $15 for members, or $20 for non-members. A complete series of four lectures is $50 for members and $70 for non-members.
