The Villa has carefully assembled this selection of Colette Odya Smith pastel 

paintings to highlight the artist's interest in the transcendence of nature 

and the spiritual harmony that can be found in the natural world. 

Smith is known for her contemporary take on landscape that balances 

realism and abstraction in delicate equilibrium. A native of Milwaukee, 

Smith has received over 70 honors and recognitions; 

exhibiting, judging, writing, and teaching throughout the 

international artmaking community.
