Covid-19 Guidelines
Guidelines for Visiting the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum During the Covid-19 Pandemic
To help insure safety of our staff and visitors, please adhere to the following guidelines when visiting.
Reservations
Advanced reservations are required to visit the museum. Please arrive at your scheduled time to allow for congestion free check-in. Group size per reservation time slot is a maximum of nine people.
Face Masks and Coverings
We request all visitors bring and wear a face mask/covering when on museum grounds. Milwaukee’s mask mandate requires masks be worn at all businesses open to the public. (Children under under three years old do not need to wear a mask.)
Physical Distancing
Please remain with your group while visiting and remain at least six feet from fellow museum visitors when possible.
Public Seating
Seating is limited within the museum as historic furniture has been removed due to sanitizing concerns. A limited number of plastic chairs have been set up and are routinely disinfected.
Hand Sanitizing
Hand sanitizer is provided throughout the museum. We ask that all visitors sanitize their hands before entering the museum and when they have a need to touch handrails or other surfaces. Many of the museum’s surfaces are historic in nature and difficult to sanitize repeatedly. Please limit touching surfaces when possible.
Restrooms
Initially restrooms will be closed during your visit. Please plan accordingly. Please check back for updates on restroom availability.
Length of Visit
Reservations are for up to one hour inside the museum and up to an additional hour for exploration of the Renaissance Garden. Please adhere to these timeframes to insure museum capacity limits are not exceeded.
Illness or Exposure
Please wait to visit the museum if you are someone in your household are not feeling well. If anyone has had contact with someone who is known to have Covid-19 please plan your visit after quarantining for 14 days.
Go with the Flow
Visitors will encounter directional signage in certain parts of the museum to help with social distancing. Please adhere to the traffic flow in these areas.
Photography
Personal photography and videography are permitted at the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum. A general photography permit is required for all engagement, family and school pictures or any other posed photography session that uses the museum as a backdrop and/or requires special attire. Personal photography permits are $75/hr. and must be obtained in advance of your visit by contacting our rentals manager at rentals@cavtmuseums.org.
A permit and certificate of insurance are required for all wedding, commercial and advertising photography. Commercial photography permits are $200/hr. and can be obtained by contacting our rentals manager at rentals@cavtmuseums.org.
